Yesterday I went to somewhere, passing Sri-Ayuthaya Road, I found some building interest, it’s the one of beautiful palace in Bangkok. That’s called Suan Pak Kad Palace (Lettuce Palace). Which this name so strange but I love this place.
At recently, Suan Pak Kad Palace was the palace of His Royal Highness Prince Chum-Pa-Ta-Pong Bharipat and Duchess Pantip Bharipat (First age of Tevakul, family name). It’s situated Sri-Ayuthaya Road, Bangkok. Construction of 6 rais of land.
The Prince used this palace for relaxing on weekend and permitted others to sightseeing several of ancients until A.D. 1952. The prince was died at 1959, after that, Duchess Pantip Bharipat donated this place to Chumpata-Pantip Foundation and this palace had became Suan Pak Kad Palace Museum since then to nowadays.
Thevarach Pirom Place
Before I introduce Thevarachpirom Palace, I would like to let you know about Phayathai Palace, the complex of several palace. Phayathai Palace is situated side of Samsen Canal, Rachvithi road, Thevarachpirom is the one of buildings in this palace area.
When The Great Queen Her Majesty Sripacharintara Prapanpeeluang came to stay in Phayathai Palace and then Thevarachpirom was built for The Great Queen, by the Bizentine Architecture. In the stateroom, there are several bizarre painting and the queen’s signature ‘สผ’ (The old name Saovapa PongSri).
This palace use to be the stateroom of many kind of events such as the religion occasions, room for the queen’s guest and the playhouse.
Nowadays, if you have a chance, do not missing to visit this palace.
